Elzie Wylie “Buddy” Baker Jr., the 1980 Daytona 500 champion and famed NASCAR commentator, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 74, born on January 2, 1941 in Florence, S.C. Around 170 kids enrolled in Darlington Rec basketball programs this summer, playing in age groups ranging from 7 year-olds to 17 year-olds. Young basketball players worked on their skills and enjoyed a grilled hot dog lunch barbecue at the A.W. Stanley Gym after the event.

The 2015-16 Coker Cobra fall sports schedules have been released.
