Kalmia Gardens offers gardening course
Kalmia Gardens is offering a four-week Green Gardening Course at the Joslin Education Center this fall. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about gardening techniques such as plant pathology, soil health, landscaping, proper pruning, and composting. Historians and individuals tracing their family genealogy will now have one location in Darlington County to do their research, as the collection of the Old Darlington District Chapter (ODCC) of the South Carolina Genealogical Society is currently moving their extensive genealogical research library contents to the Darlington County Historical Commission.
Hartsville Depot readies for new owners
The Old Darlington District Chapter (ODCC) of the South Carolina Genealogical Society had rented the old Hartsville Depot on 4th Street near Downtown Hartsville for nearly twenty years; the beautiful historic building, located at 114 South Fourth Street, was constructed in 1908 by Atlantic Coastline Railroad Company.
