Trinity-Byrnes basketball player signs letter of intent

Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School senior Marcus Crawford signed a National Letter of Intent on April 12th to play basketball at Catawba College.
Crawford was named to region tournament first-team, second team all-region, north-south team, and SCISA Class AA All-State team (by High School Sports Report). This year he averaged 12ppg, 6apg (assist per game), and 3spg.
Crawford began playing basketball at the age of seven. His motivation and drive to improve stemmed after being cut his seventh grade year from the middle school team.
“I transferred to Trinity-Byrnes the beginning of my eleventh grade year, and it has prepared me for college academically with a strong course load,” Crawford said. “My time on the court at Trinity-Byrnes, and with Coach C, has molded me into a strong leader, and made me a better player physically and mentally.”
Crawford plans to study business at Catawba College this fall.
“I chose Catawba over other schools because of the coaching staff and academic opportunities,” Crawford said. “The coaching staff at Catawba push to make you better on the court through hard work, but they also help prepare you for life after basketball in the real world. Academically, the school offers a variety of opportunities for business majors; that prepare them be successful in the business world.”
Crawford currently has a 4.53 GPA.
