Return of the Bojangles Southern 500 Party
The Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association will hold a party to kick off Race Week activities downtown with the Return of the Bojangles Southern 500 Party from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 28, at historic Liberty Lane.
This dressy event will feature live music by the Speak Easy Band of Florence, heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by local businesses, adult beverages, and more TBA! (Think autographs!)
Tickets are $50 and are limited to 200 guests. Tickets will include a collectable lanyard and numbered ticket. Must be 21 and older to attend. Call Lisa Rock at 398-4000 x 103 to order your tickets, and they will be delivered to your office.
The venue features a mural by Columbia, S.C., artist Blue Sky and the handprints of all the winners of the Southern 500 Darlington race from 1950 to 2000 in the brick walkway.

Proceeds with benefit the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association and its projects to improve the business climate in Darlington, including a new sign and facade improvement grant program. Past projects include streetscaping and parking lots downtown, free business seminars, the Build Up Darlington program, the Veteran’s Memorial, Market on Darlington Square, and more, including new banners to welcome Race Fans going up this year!
