Red Foxes beat Wilson 41-34

The Hartsville Red Foxes returned home with a 7-point, 41-34 win over Wilson in Florence on Friday, October 30, in varsity football action played in Memorial Stadium. Zayshaun Rice’s 30-yard run gave Wilson a 27-13 lead late in the first half. However, Hartsville’s D.P. Pendergrass took the next kickoff and scampered 94 yards for a touchdown to revive Hartsville. Hartsville’s Thad Anderson recovered a fumble early in the second half to give Hartsville added energy. Pendergrass scored on a 32-yard pass from Owen Taylor to knot the game. Hartsville’s J’Shawn Anderson rushed 7 yards for a touchdown to give Hartsville a 34-27 lead. The Red Foxes’ Darian McMillan ran a 5-yard touchdown with 7:16 remaining in the game. Wilson managed to get to Hartsville’s 12-yard line but the threat was halted on an interception in the end zone by Zy’Riq Thomas. The Red Foxes held on for the win. Hartsville’s D.P. Pendergrass rushed for 73 yards in the game and also had a 32-yard touchdown reception. Hartsville will travel to Darlington on Friday, November 6, for a 7:30 game time.
