The Junior Legion season ended Thursday night, July 7 with a loss to Post 15 from Sumter with a score of 7 to 5. It was the final game in a best of three series, showing that Darlington – while struggling at times – made the playoffs.

Trace Atkinson took the mound for Post 13 in one of his few opportunities of the year, and made the most of it, but ended up on the losing end. Errors plagued the Post 13 team most of the year and though fewer in this game they still accounted for four of the seven runs being unearned.

“I was glad our team came out and fought tonight,” Coach Dennis Gearhart said. “We are a young team and look to only get better.”

Darlington finished the season as the number 4 seed in the playoffs.
