Myrtle Beach shuts out Darlington 69-0

The Darlington Falcons returned home Friday from Myrtle Beach having suffered a 69-0 shutout from the No. 1-ranked Myrtle Beach Seahawks in Region VI-4A.
The Seahawks’ Andrew Doss rushed 2 yards for the first score of the game with 7:07 remaining in the first quarter. The PAT was no good by Sullivan Hardin. With 1:49 remaining in the first quarter, Myrtle Beach’s Ryan Burger completed a 32-yard pass to J.J. Jones for the second score of the quarter. The PAT by Hardin was good.
The Seahawks’ Burger completed a 60-yard pass to Adam Randall, and Hardin connected for the PAT with 10:25 remaining in the second quarter.
Burger completed an 11-yard pass to Raykwon Williams and the PAT by Hardin was good. Burger again connected for an 18-yard pass to Adam Randall and the PAT was good by Hardin with 6:53 remaining in the second quarter.
With 3:43 remaining in the first half, Burger tossed a 30-yard pass to Adam Randall and the PAT was good by Hardin. Cam Ward rushed 4 yards and the PAT was good by Hardin with 42 seconds remaining in the first half.
The Seahawks found themselves with a comfortable 48-0 lead at halftime.
Myrtle Beach substituted in the second half.
The Seahawks managed to place 7 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter on an 8-yard run by Ward and the PAT by Hardin.
With 11:06 remaining in the final quarter, Doss carried the pigskin in for 6 points on an 18-yard run. The PAT by Hardin was good. The final score of the game came at the 7:31 mark on a Robert Amodio 41-yard pass to Williams and the PAT was good by Hardin.
Darlington committed 3 turnovers during the game.
Although Darlington’s Deuce Hudson completed 17 of 35 passes for 228 yards, the Falcons were unable to place any points on the scoreboard.
Myrtle Beach’s Burger completed 8 of 15 passes for 175 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also rushed for 26 yards.
The Seahawks’ Doss carried the ball 11 times for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns while the Falcons’ Brian Robinson carried the ball 7 times for 33 yards.
Myrtle Beach’s Randall garnered 106 yards and 2 touchdowns on 3 pass completions while Darlington’s Daedae Bowens gained 79 yards on 3 pass completions.
Myrtle Beach’s Trey Baker intercepted a pass during the game.
Darlington will host Wilson Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
