Mid-year football review

Now the games are really going to count.

With the completion of the non-conference schedule, region play is ready to begin and it is as if everybody is starting from scratch.

Darlington, Lamar and Hartsville were each off this week as all three are preparing for the start of region play and with region play determining playoff seeding the level of importance in preparation and detail is higher than ever.

So, with that being said, let us take look back at the all three teams and see who is leading the way for each team in multiple offensive and defensive categories:

Darlington:
The Falcons are 3-2 after five games with wins over Wilson, Cheraw and Lamar while losing to Carolina Forest and Dillon.
Passing Leader: Frankie Johnson; 53-90 for 604 yards passing, two passing touchdowns and three interceptions
Rushing Leader: Frankie Johnson; 471 yards rushing, seven rushing touchdowns
Receiving Leader: Elmo Johnson; 289 yards receiving, one receiving touchdown
Tackles Leader: Bryson Allen; 51 tackles
Interception Leaders: Five players tied with one; Kyreeq Fox, Darius Green, Josh Chester, Sachem Reese and Tyler Green
Sacks Leader: Unavailable

Lamar:
The Silver Foxes are 3-2 after five games with wins over Mullins, Timmonsville and Lake View while losing to Hartsville and Darlington.
Passing Leader: Decobie Durant; 12-22 for 176 yards passing, one passing touchdown and one interception
Rushing Leader: Trey Caesar; 887 yards rushing, 11 rushing touchdowns
Receiving Leader: Stanley Bess; 96 yards receiving
Tackles Leader: Jeblonski Green; 54 total tackles
Interception Leader: Rodrick Brown; three interceptions
Sacks Leader: Jeblonski Green; four sacks

Hartsville:
The Red Foxes are 5-0 after five games, defeating Central, Lamar, Camden, Conway and Lee Central.
Passing Leader: Matt Lynch; 19-43 for 327 yards passing, three passing touchdowns and one interception
Rushing Leader: Collins “June” Bishop; 505 yards rushing, seven rushing touchdowns
Receiving Leader: Steve Joyner; 172 yards, two receiving touchdowns
Tackles Leader: Tikwan Smith; 34 tackles
Interception Leader: Z. Carroway; one interception
Sacks Leader: Tikwan Smith; three sacks
