McCusker and Kent Earn Spots on All-SAC First Team

Haley McCusker and Faith Kent of the Coker women’s lacrosse team earned All-Conference honors for the second year in row, as both were named to the First Team in their respective positions, as announced by the conference office on Thursday, April 26.

Haley McCusker, a midfielder on the women’s lacrosse team, totaled 68 points with 64 goals and four assists on a shots on goal percentage of 78.3 in Coker’s 15 games. McCusker has scooped up 54 ground balls, controlled 82 draws, and caused 24 turnovers. At Coker, she is the all-time leader in career goals with 212, second in points with 242, tied second with 30 assists, second with 171 ground balls, fourth with 76 caused turnovers, and is currently third in single season goals with 64. McCusker’s game highs include eight goals (tied second all-time), seven ground balls (twice), 13 draw controls, and five caused turnovers. A two-time SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week in her career, she was honored as the 2017 Female Athlete of the Year at the FANG Awards. The Warwick, R.I. native also has the distinction of being the second Cobra (male or female) to reach 200 career points and the first to reach 200 goals. She led the conference in free position goals per game (1.13), shots per game (9.20, fifth nationally), and shots on goal per game (7.20, third in the nation).

McCusker, a communications major, is the daughter of Lynn and James McCusker.

Faith Kent

Faith Kent, a redshirt junior attacker on the women’s lacrosse team, was a two-time SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2018. In Coker history, she is the all-time points leader with 271, first in career assists with 99, and has the highest points per game average at 5.53. Additionally, Kent is second in career goals with 172. On the season, she is the leader in points per game with 6.8, second with 102 season points, second in season goals with 68, and second in season assists with 34. In single game records, Kent holds the record of nine goals in a game (twice), points in a game with 14, and is second in assists with six. She was the conference statistical champion in four different categories: 2.27 assists per game, 7.07 draw controls per game, 4.53 goals per game, and 6.80 points per game (second nationally).

The Winter Springs, Fla. native is the daughter of Phyllis Kent and is a communications major.
