Coach Donald Poole of Lamar High School was honored at Lamar High’s football game against Darlington High on Friday Sept. 11, 2015, at 7:15 pm. Coach Poole was presented with a Shrine Bowl Red Blazer by Sam Tallon and fellow members of the Darlington County Red Fez Club in recognition of his selection as an assistant coach for this year’s Shine Bowl of the Carolinas game.

Fittingly, the presentation took place centerfield at the Lamar High facility that bears this legendary coach’s name: Donald R. Poole Stadium.
The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas is an all-star football game played between North and South Carolina high school seniors. The game has been played every year since 1937 to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of 22 medical facilities across North America, all of which are committed to providing the best pediatric medical care available.

This year’s Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas will be played at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Tickets will go on sale in November at all Academy Sports stores in North and South Carolina. Tickets can also be obtained online at www.shrine-bowl.com or by calling 1-800-648-2695. Advance tickets will cost $15. Game day tickets will cost $20.
