Thank you from The Free Medical Clinic

I’m never disappointed by the outpouring of heart and spirit of people in Darlington County.

The Free Medical Clinic of Darlington County is one organization that would not exist if it wasn’t for the support of our donors and our volunteers. 4,798 people have registered as patients and received medical care through all of these efforts since opening in 2000.

On May 2, the 10th annual Walk With The Docs fundraiser in honor of our clinical volunteers was held at Darlington Racetrack and we’d like to thank the following sponsors:

Approximately 75 people, including volunteers, came out to walk twice around the Darlington Racetrack for 2.7 miles beginning on Pit Road. Josh Lively, local musician, provided music to walk by and each walker received a Walk t-shirt with a sponsor’s bag full of donated gifts and water.

All walkers started together and enjoyed the beautiful morning while they got some exercise. At the completion of the walk, anyone interested in riding the Racetrack’s Silverado truck around the track 3 times at race speed signed up with staff and excitedly waited for their turn. Many of the children and their parents took advantage of this unique opportunity and it was entertaining to see the reactions as they finished the ride and got out of the truck! Some loved it and couldn’t wait until next year and others had no idea what they were in for!

God blessed our time together and proceeds totaled $8,145 to benefit the patients of the Free Medical Clinic of Darlington County.

Thank you Darlington County again and again. The Affordable Care Act has caused some positive and negative changes for our patients but we are still able to meet the needs of those who come in our doors because of your generous hearts. God bless you all!
