Reader displeased with Phil Noble’s Brexit column

The article “Brexit: What it means to SC and you,” by Phil Noble was informative, accurate, and intellectually enlightening – if you are an Elitist, Liberal, Democrat. It seems that voters who express themselves in ways the Left does not like they are “followers of Trump, Conservatives, Republicans, white, old people, non-urban, lower educated, and low income.” Just to remind Mr. Noble, some of us yokels are well educated, economically secure, and some of us live in the cities of our state.

Mr. Noble and the Liberal Left cannot bring themselves to believe that the British voter had a legitimate beef with the EU that has brought him to say, “Enough! We want our country back!” The EU, securely ensconced in Brussels, ruling with dictatorial power, and taxpayer money for decades has been telling the countries that make up that misguided body what they can and cannot do. Mr. Nobles knows that the EU decides how these citizens live, how they can spend their money, how much money they can have, how many immigrants they must accept, and a host of other freedom robbing decisions. Concerning the immigration issue, all you have to do is observe the chaos in France, Germany, Greece, the Scandinavian countries, and others. Jobs have been and are being lost. The citizens, especially women, are not safe and still the EU turns a blind eye and goes its elitist way.

In his third paragraph, Mr. Noble uses the tried and true Liberal bludgeon, the economic bug-a-boo, “The sky is falling. The sky is falling! Look at the stock market!” I wonder if Mr. Noble has ever seriously considered the words of Mr. Patrick Henry when on March 23, 1775 meeting in Richmond VA in the St. John’s Church (horror of horrors – they met in a church!) when he said, “What is it gentleman wish? What will they have? Is life so dear or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.” The British people got sick and tired of the EU’s chains and slavery and voted to be set free! It is as simple as that. They got tired of immigrants and Muslims, the lying media, the lying politicians, and the whole EU Establishment in Brussels, so tired the they voted to get out!
Hopefully, the American people will do the same this election concerning the chains and slavery of Washington. And perhaps, one day we can break free from some of Columbia’s chains, too.
