Post 13 led by pitcher Brycen Brown defeated Post 29 from Bishopville earlier this week 4 – 1 to keep the playoff hopes alive in Darlington. Darlington is 2 and 6 as of now, and needs to string together a few wins to be right back into contention.

Brycen Brown took the mound against Post 29 showing signs of intensity early on. Brown carried a no-hitter into the fourth and ended his evening giving up just two hits with no walks and striking out three. Brown also helped his cause with the bat, driving in two with a single in the 6th.

Other notable Post 13 hitters were Eric McElveen who had a pair of singles and Cameron Norris who continued his recent tear by doubling as a pinch hitter in the sixth. Jake Jones scored on a wild pitch, as did McElveen and Bryant Huggins. Huggins picked up the save for Post 13 striking out one and walking one to end the game.

Darlington then travelled to Hartsville where they dropped a close one to Post 53, 4 – 3. Rylan Weatherford took the loss, but went the distance giving up 7 hits and striking out one.

The next and final home game of the season excluding a playoff appearance will be Friday June 26th against division leader South Florence at 6:30 p.m.
