Lamar defeats Great Falls 44-12

The Lamar Silver Foxes varsity football team returned home from Great Falls on Sept. 24 with a 44-12 win over Great Falls.
The Silver Foxes held Great Falls scoreless in the first quarter while placing 14 points on the scoreboard. Lamar’s Pat Anderson had a 7-yard run for the first points of the game. The 2-point conversion failed.
Tyler McManus tossed a 35-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Dolford for the second points of the game. The 2-point conversion was good.
In the second quarter, Lamar’s McManus managed a touchdown on a 3-yard rushing play. The 2-point conversion was good to close the half with a 22-0 lead over Great Falls.
Lamar’s Anderson scored on a 13-yard run in the third quarter. The 2-point conversion was good.
Great Falls’ Xavier Brown scampered 62-yards for the first score for his team. The 2-point conversion attempt failed. The Silver Foxes’ Dolford was on the receiving end of a 40-yard touchdown pass from McManus.
The 2-point conversion attempt failed.
In the final quarter of play, Lamar’s Aiden Hunt added a touchdown on a 23-yard run. The 2-point conversion was good. Great Falls’ Brown closed the scoring in the game on a 5-yard run. The 2-point conversion attempt failed.
With this win, Lamar is 1-0 in Region 2-A. The Silver Foxes will host McBee Oct. 2.
