Lamar blasts Timmonsville, but drops close one to Lewisville

By Drake Horton, Contributing Writer

The Lamar Silver Foxes split its two games this past week, both on the road, defeating Timmonsville 17-2 and losing to Lewisville 6-3.

In the two games against Timmonsville this season, Lamar has outscored the Whirlwinds 32-2, but against Lewisville, who is leading the region, the Silver Foxes have only been able to score a combined four runs.

“We have played tight the two times we’ve played them,” Lamar head coach Adam Windham said. “Made a few mistakes that we shouldn’t have made and it’s cost us both ball games.”

With the region title now out of reach, Lamar looks to finish second in the region and gain at least one home playoff game. In order for that to happen, the Silver Foxes need Lewisville to beat McBee this week.

Lamar’s overall record is 14-4, 5-3 in the region.
