FDTC’s Shelby Cox signs to play softball at USC Aiken
Shelby Cox, second baseman for the Florence-Darlington Technical College Lady Stingers, has signed to play softball for USC Aiken during the 2019 season.
Cox, a native of Aynor was surrounded by family, friends and teammates when she signed to play for USC Aiken. She is a sophomore on the field and throughout the regular season this year, she has amassed 18 doubles, three triples, four homeruns and 34 RBI.
Cox leads the NJCAA’s Region 10 in batting average (.536), on-base percentage (.587) and slugging percentage (.907).
The Florence-Darlington Technical College Lady Stingers are currently ranked No. 9 in the NJCAA DII Softball Rankings with a 34-7 overall record and a 25-2 Region 10 record. Next weekend, the team will travel to Burlington, North Carolina to compete in the Region 10 Tournament, where they will be a No. 1 seed.
