DDRA’s Golf Tournament draws over 20 teams

Wednesday, April 14th, the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association held its annual Golf Tournament at the Darlington Country Club. This annual tournament is a fundraiser for the DDRA to help bring additional activity to the city of Darlington. It was sponsored by Carolina Bank, Nationwide Insurance, Fitness World Gyms, Darlington Raceway, and MPD Electric Cooperative. There were approximately 21 teams that showed all from Darlington Counties local businesses and played the course from 1 o’clock to 5 o’clock pm. at 5:30 the scores were tallied and Final Putt-Off occurred to finalize the winner of third place. The first-place winners for the tournament were Lawrence Lowe of Lowes Tow Bars, Steve Irick from Darlington Packing, John Gregg, and Charlie Weatherford from the Dairy Bar. Second Place was awarded to Frank Hue from Darlington Water, The third place was won by Lewis Brown from the Economic Development team after a final but off against Former Mayor Ronnie Ward.
