Members of Darlington Pilot Club and American Legion Post 13 gathered at the Darlington Veterans Memorial Aug. 11 for the presentation of a new South Carolina state flag. Certified as having flown over the State House in Columbia, this Palmetto Tree and Crescent Moon banner was a gift from Pilot and former SC House Representative Denny Neilson. It will take its place below the American flag currently flying on a new flagpole at Post 13, located at 1752 Harry Byrd Hwy in Darlington.
