Lamar High School’s Carly Copeland has signed her Letter of Intent to play with Montreat College in North Carolina. Copeland, who is a catcher and outfielder for the Silver Foxes, plans to pursue the ministry while at Montreat College.

“I have played softball since I was old enough to hold a ball and I don’t ever want to stop playing,” said Copeland. “I chose Montreat College because it’s a beautiful Christian school that will allow me to do what I want to do academically, as well as give me the opportunity to play the game I love.”

“Carly has spirit and excitement about the game,” said Heather Maston, head softball coach at Montreat College. “She has fantastic grades, she’s a good kid, and we are really excited to have her be a part of our program.”

“Carly will be able to play softball and still pursue the course of study she wants to pursue in a Christian environment, which is important to Carly and her family,” said Coach Alan Poole, Lamar High’s athletic director. “We know she will do well.”
