Coach Donald Poole honored as Shrine Bowl Coach

Coach Donald Poole of Lamar High School will be honored at Lamar High’s football game against Darlington High on Friday Sept. 11, 2015, at 7:15 p.m. Coach Poole will be presented with a Shrine Bowl Green Blazer by members of the Darlington County Red Fez Club for being selected as an assistant coach for this year’s Shine Bowl of the Carolinas game.

The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas is an all-star football game played between North and South Carolina high school seniors. The game has been played every year since 1937 to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of 22 medical facilities across North America, all of which are committed to providing the best pediatric medical care available.

This year’s Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas will be played at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College in Spartan-burg, SC on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale in November at all Academy Sports stores in North and South Carolina. Tickets can also be obtained online at www.shrine-bowl.com or by calling 1-800-648-2695. Advance tickets will cost $15. Game day tickets will cost $20.
