City brings back gospel music event
The City of Darlington will hold a spring Gospel Music on the Square will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 17. The free event is sponsored by the City, Darlington Police Department, First Citizens Bank, The Dairy Bar, and IGA employees.
GARB to meet at CRC
The Golden Age Resource Bank (GARB) is meeting Tuesday, May 19 at 12 o’clock noon at the CRC Vision Center, 302 Pearl Street in Darlington. Beginning in June, the third Tuesday of the month will be the “CRC, Inc. GARB Day” for meetings, workshops and planning for all generations. The times will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
National Technical Honor Society holds induction ceremony at DCIT
The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is an organization whose mission is to “honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.” Darlington County Institute of Technology (DCIT) inducted thirteen young scholars into the local chapter on April 13, 2015.
Thirty-three students were invited to join this year.
Darlington Family YMCA seeks carnival sponsors
The Darlington Family YMCA is holding its first Carnival on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the YMCA property with a petting zoo, inflatables, food, and games. Admission will be $5. The Carnival will be held to raise funds for the Annual Campaign for youth and family scholarships, including the YMCA afterschool and summer childcare programs.
