Hartsville Museum displays “Little Red Riding Hood”
Desiring a wallhanging to display beside a bookcase was the inspiration for Naomi Narita’s handwork. The theme for this year’s annual challenge of the Swamp Fox Quilters Guild is “Black and White Plus One.” Choosing red as her add-in, Narita’s book-themed quilt evolved to become “Little Red Riding Hood.”

Hartsville Chamber and Tingen & Associates to provide free healthcare consultations
The Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce and Tingen & Associates will host a free health care consultation workshop on September 10 in the chamber’s board room at 214 N. 5th Street from 10am to 4pm. Experts from Tingen & Associates will review businesses’ current health insurance coverage, discuss new government regulations, and advise attendees on policies that will fit their businesses.
Duck box donation by Duke Energy Foundation
The Duke Energy Foundation continued its long-running partnership with the South Carolina Waterfowl Association by presenting the organization with a check for $5,000. The money will go towards the maintenance and construction of wood duck boxes at Lake Robinson and Prestwood Lake.
Women in Philanthropy 2015 Grant Presentations
Women in Philanthropy, a giving circle of Eastern Carolina Community Foundation, will hear oral presentations from grant applicants for its seventh annual grant cycle at noon on Tuesday, August 27 in the Joe Stukes Room at Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation Library in Florence.
