Where is this in Darlington County? June 3, 2015
Last week’s photo was actually a bit of a trick…it was of a historical marker connected to Darlington County, but is just across the bridge on Hwy. 34 that passes over the Great Pee Dee River into Marlboro County; if you pull over to the left, you will find the stone marker.
Cashaway Baptist Church merged with Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 1791, which is in Darlington County at Lowther’s Hill Cemetery. These two congregations in turn formed the present day Mechanicville Baptist Church in 1818.
