Where is this in Darlington County?
The “Where is this in Darlington County” photo from last week was a tough one! It was taken by our friend Cal McInville, who is a great photographer here in Darlington. The photo was taken at the old Hartsville Darlington Speedway which was located at the Darlington Dragstrip they totally destroyed the track and just left these two structures the Grandstand Bathrooms and the infield concession stand. According to McInville, many people have many fond memories of this place, in its heyday in the late 70s early 80s it was packed every Friday night even some of the movie “Thunder in Carolina” were filmed there.
