Roy F. Williams, III, 56, of Beaufort, SC passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2016 at the Darlington Grove Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.

He was born on July 10, 1959 in Darlington, SC to the late Roy F. Williams, Jr. and Buena Merritt Williams.

He was an avid fisherman, and loved taking morning walks along the inter-coastal waterway and spending time with friends and family.

In his younger years he loved playing sports, specifically football, where he played at St. Johns High.

As a child he was baptized at Calvary Baptist in Darlington, S.C. and he was recently rededicated and became a member of Praise Assembly of Beaufort, S.C.

He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Ballew and Patricia Blake; two sisters, June Levesque and Bridgette Lawson; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation at MDA.org due to this disease affecting his grandson.

Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

Jerry O’Neil Morris, Sr.

Jerry O’Neil Morris, Sr., age 67, of Florence passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9th in the Lamar chapel at Belk Funeral Home followed by burial at Lamar Cemetery.

Born August 7, 1948 in Florence, S.C., Jerry was the son of the late Archie Samuel Morris and Edna Louise Mims. He served in the U.S. Army, and then worked as a truck driver. Jerry was an avid NASCAR fan and when he was younger he raced in dirt track races. Jerry always saw beauty and purpose in all aspects of life.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Brenda Watford Morris; his two sons, Jerry (Angel) Morris and Chris Morris, all of Florence; his two daughters, Crystal (Tripp) Timmons of Timmonsville, and Connie (Tony) Nettles of Effingham; ten grandchildren; and his sisters, Linda Faye (Doug) Skipper of Myrtle Beach and Nancy Morris Barth of Effingham.

Preceded in death in addition to his parents was his daughter, Angela “Angel” Morris Trail.

The family received friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Belk Funeral Home Lamar Chapel, and other times at 240 Jerry Lane Florence, S.C. 29505.

Virginia Louise Young Volz

Virginia Louise Young Volz, age 88 passed away Friday, June 10, 2016. Funeral services were held 3:00 pm Sunday, June 12th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home. The family received friends following the service.

Born October 16, 1927, Virginia is the daughter of the late Jake Young, Sr. and Ella Suggs Young. She worked as the first secretary for Darlington Raceway. She lived in California for a number of years, and then recently moved back to Darlington due to her health.

Surviving are her son, Jimmy (Mary) Chandler of Waggner; her daughter-in-law, Susan Chandler of Georgia; her brothers, Johnny Young and Alton (Sarah) Young; four grandchildren, Shawn Chandler, Bain Chandler, Michael Chandler, and Brandy Chandler.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Volz; her son, Leo “Lee” Chandler, Jr; her daughter, Lynn Chandler Gainey; two grandchildren, Scott Gainey and Lesley Chandler; and her brothers, Raymond Young and Leon Young.
