Mary Emily Flowers Kirven

Mary Emily Flowers Kirven, age 90 passed away Monday, July 11, 2016. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16th at Black Creek Baptist Church followed by burial in Black Creek Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family received friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall at the church.

Born August 25, 1925, Mary was the daughter of the late George Flowers and Ulaela Springs Flowers. She was a graduate of St. John’s High School and Winthrop College. Mary was an active member of Black Creek Baptist Church, Kalmia Garden Club and The Alzheimer’s Support Group. She was a devoted wife and mother who was known for her humor, sincerity, and love of The Lord. Mary had a vast appreciation for nature and loved all things great and small. She was a true friend and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her brother Frank Flowers; son Wilson Kirven of Beaufort; and daughters Spring Boan of Timmonsville and Emily Morton. She also leaves five Grandchildren, five great-Grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Hal Kirven; brother Paul Flowers; her sister Georgia Flowers; and her beloved sisters-in-law Margaret Flowers and Pauline Flowers.
