Beatrice Keith Bradshaw

Beatrice Keith Bradshaw, age 84, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016. Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4th at Welsh Neck Baptist Church in Society Hill directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Born June 9, 1931, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Daisy Brazell and Julius Keith. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School. Beatrice, an astute businesswoman, was the owner and operator of Bradshaw Food Market for many years where she enjoyed meeting people at her store and had a tender heart for the downtrodden. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and USC football and baseball games with her sons. She was a member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sons, G.W. Bradshaw III of Columbia, Keith Thomas “Tommy” Bradshaw, and Jimmy Todd Bradshaw, both of Society Hill; her brothers, William “Billy” (Connie) Keith, Albert (Ruth) Keith, both of Cheraw, and Tex H. (Debbie) Keith of Myrtle Beach.

Preceded in death are her husband, G.W. Bradshaw, Jr.; her brother, Billy Ervin “Tooney” Keith; and her sister, Sally Keith Hanson.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at Welsh Neck Baptist Church.

Harriet Greene

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Francis Griffin Greene of Darlington were held at 12:00 o’clock noon on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Darlington.

Interment followed in Florence National Cemetery directed by Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. of Darlington.

Mrs. Greene was born January 12, 1931 in Fairfield, Connecticut to the late Mr. Benjamin and Mrs. Francis Baskerville Griffin. She departed this life on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina.

Harriet graduated from John Adams High School in Jamaica, New York. She began working as a secretary for the New York District 65 Labor Union. She was later promoted to office manager where she worked diligently for 28 years. She attended St. Clement Pope Catholic Church in New York.

On April 5, 1979, she was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Bullie A. Greene. They resided in New York until 1995, after which they relocated to Darlington, South Carolina.
Harriet joined Bethel A.M.E. Church in 1995. She was a faithful church member and supported several church organizations. She loved to attend Sunday School, and she was a faithful Bible Study member at Comfort Ministries, Inc. until her health declined in October of 2015. Harriet also volunteered as a poll worker for Darlington County.

Harriet leaves to cherish her memory and share her legacy of love; a loving husband, Bullie “Frank” Greene; one son, Eric Robinson; step daughter, Gale Greene; step granddaughter, Brittney Greene; special cousins, Marie Baskerville, and Callie Baskerville-Jones; nephew Phillip Howard; great grandniece, Shantell Sykes and great grandnephew Terrell Sykes; daughter-in-law Sylvia R. Prunty; grandson Eric (Renata) Prunty; great granddaughters Destyne, Ayrica, and Madison; sisters-in-law, Idella McQueen and Dorothy (James) Williams; brother-in-law, Italy A. (Effie) Greene; special niece, Cheryl G. Roussel; god daughter Sherrine Simmons-Moore; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and special friends Barbara Evans, Elizabeth Upson, and JoAnn Bonaparte. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Howard; niece, Phyllis Howard and stepson Dale Greene.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Greene to the Building Fund of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Darlington S.C.

The family is receiving friends 12:00o’clock noon until 8:00PM each day at the residence of a niece, Cheryl G. Roussel, 2149 South Main Street, Florence.

Vivien B. O’Neal

Vivien B. O’Neal, age 78, passed away on February 4, 2016. The family received visitors on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Belk Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at the chapel on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Bruce Kimbrel, Rev. Todd Parrish, and Rev. Don Squires. Interment will be at a later date.

Born March 21, 1937, Vivien was the daughter of the late Ruth L. Hughes, and stepdaughter of the late Hewitt Lloyd. She worked at many places over her lifetime, concluding with Manheim of Darlington where she worked for forty-four years, and only retired within the last year when her health would no longer allow. She enjoyed her work there, and all of the people she met over the years.

Vivien was a founding member of Temple Free Will Baptist Church and continued that membership throughout the remainder of her life. Vivien loved the Lord and served in numerous capacities at the church throughout her life. She enjoyed working with the youth, teaching her Sunday School class, and serving on the Auxiliary to name a few.

Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca Moody and Jane Lloyd, both of Darlington; her beloved grandchildren, Skyler Moody and Keith Moody, of Darlington; her sisters, Mrs. Joyce Dickerson of Darlington, and Mrs. Pauline Smith of Timmonsville; her brother, Mr. Roger Bryant Sr. of Boiling Springs; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, and brother, Mr. Eugene Bryant Sr.

Donald Ray 'Joe' Terry

Memorial services for Donald Ray “Joe” Terry age 72 were held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Chuck Alford. Visitation was held Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.

Mr. Terry passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016. He was the son of the late Leon Odell Terry, Sr. and Bessie Mae Boan Terry. He was a veteran that served in the U.S. Navy as a 3rd Class Petty Officer. He never met a stranger, and was a friend to all who knew him. Surviving are his son, Darren (Shannon) Terry, Hartsville; grandchildren, Austin Ward Terry, and Mackenzie Noel Terry, both of Hartsville; brothers, John “Johnny” Odell Terry, and Louis “Bud” Terry, both of Florence; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings: Marie Watford, Ella Louise Larymore, Marlene McCaskill, and Leon Odell Terry, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorials be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. David Zeigler

David Allan Zeigler, age 52, died Tuesday February 2, 2016 in a local hospital. A graveside service washeld at 11:00 Thursday morning, February 4th, 2016 in Swift Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family received friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Born in Hartsville on April 24, 1963, David was the son of Jerry and Mary Ruth Zeigler of Hartsville. David was a truck driver, and was driving for Southern States until his illness. He will be remembered as a loving, easygoing person who had a very generous spirit about him. David was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to the care of his parents.

He is survived by his mother and father Hartsville; a son, Cody Zeigler of Lamar; siblings: Joy (Billy) Sparrow of Hartsville, William (Sally) Zeigler of Georgetown, and Lisa (Art) Martin of Florence; many aunts uncles, cousins, nephews and a niece.
