Chad Davis

Mr. Chad Davis, age 40, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel by Brent Taylor. Burial followed in the Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the funeral home.

OBIT Chad Davis

Mr. Davis was born February 12, 1976 in Monroe, N.C. a son of Avery D. Davis and Carolyn Todd Shoemake. He was a 1995 graduate of Chesterfield High School and an employee of Southern Eight Farms. Chad was a former employee of Dixie Cup and Griggs and Son Contractors. He enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and all forms of carpentry work. His favorite pastime was spending time with his daughters.

He is survived by his loving children, Cheyanne Davis, Savannah Davis, Jewel Davis all of the home; their mother and his best friend, Melissa Davis of Rock Hill, S.C.; his step son, Seth Liles of Wadesboro, N.C.; his significant other and love of his life, Tiffany Maikowski of the home; his father, Avery D. (Deborah Larymore) Davis of Chesterfield, S.C.; his mother, Carolyn (Mitch) Shoemake of Darlington, S.C.; one brother, Dale Davis of Chesterfield, S.C.; two nephews, Cody and Dustin Davis; one niece, Sarah Davis; two uncles, Calvin (Cindy Stephens) Davis and Ricky (Alice) Todd; and his loyal blue heeler, “Abby” of the home.

The family request memorials be made in Chad’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29212.

Georgia Mae Brown

Funeral services for Ms. Georgia Mae Brown of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Darlington, was 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Darlington.

Interment followed in the church cemetery directed by Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. of Darlington.

Ms. Brown was born on September 14, 1963, the daughter of Magalene Lunn and George Brown. She died on Friday, August 5, 2016.

Ms. Brown was educated in the Darlington County Public School System and was a member of Saint John High School Class of 1982.

Survivors include: her loving mother, Magalene Lunn; her father George Brown; her children, Adrian, Thomas, and Latoya; siblings: Deloris (Micheal) Jett, Sharon Lunn, Kim Williams, Richard (Dellean) Brown, Robert (Janet) Brown, Gregory Brown, and Jaime Brown; seven grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family is receiving friends at the residence of her uncle, Rev. Sylvester Lunn, 709 Wheat Field Drive, Darlington.
