Luna Mae Denton Parker
Mae Parker, 80, of Darlington died Saturday, August 2, 2015.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 5 PM in the Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in The Parker Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and at all other times at 1034 Creekview Drive in Darlington.

Mrs. Parker was born in Durham, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Dewey G. and Zena Buckwell Denton. Mrs. Parker worked for many years at Thurston Motor Lines. She and her late husband, Rev. Parker, were the founders of The United Christian Assembly Church in Darlington. She enjoyed singing, reading, and sitting in the sun. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

She is survived by three children, Cyndy Gaines and husband Michael of Darlington, Dan Parker of Columbia, and Mark Parker and wife Susan of Darlington; her brother, Thomas Denton of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Tony Parker; her granddaughter, Marsha Gaines; her great-granddaughter, Isabella Mae Gaines; her brothers, Dewey G. Denton, Jr., Charles “Sonny Boy” Denton, and Butch Denton; and her sisters, Louise Hurt, Lorene Link, and Lois Howard.
