‘We got each other, food and shelter’
The News & Press asked our readers to tell us what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving. Here are the responses we received:
I am most thankful for my amazing children. Mackenzleigh, 13, Coletyn, 10, and Emersyn, 3. They have pushed me to be a better person. Each day I wake up blessed to be their mama. God could have picked any other woman, yet He saw fit for them to be in my care here on Earth. — Heather Floyd, Darlington
I’m most thankful for another year that the Lord covered my family with His blood from COVID and illness. We got each other, food and shelter. For a beautiful and healthy family. The bills are paid and Lord, all I want to say is we truly thank you. –Chester and Letha Martin, Darlington
My family is most thankful for our school, Thomas Hart Academy. For welcoming our entire family into the community. With a young son we are grateful for the love, attention and top-notch education he receives. And as a staff member I’m grateful for a workplace full of wonderful people. We love having a school that encourages our child to be himself and always makes us feel like family. — Lindsay Henrich, the Henrich family, Darlington
I’m thankful that our bills are paid, food on the table and our God sacrificed His son, dying on the cross for my sins. He gave me my husband who is such a loving husband. I’m blessed … so blessed. — Brenda Welch Jenkins and the Jenkins family
I’m thankful for a thriving community filled with amazing small businesses in Hartsville. We are so blessed to be minutes away from so many unique local merchants ready to serve you with a smile! — Lauren Baker
