Trinity-Byrnes students place in equestrian meet

The Trinity-Byrnes Equestrian team attended the two-day SCISA Hunt Seat Equestrian State Championship on April 14 and 15 at Tally Ho in Timmonsville. The four-member team all earned individual honors in their respective events. 
Saturday’s results:
• Maya Chokshi – 1st novice flat, 4th cross rails
• Erin Lassiter – 1st on open flat, 6th on open jumping
• Amelia Whitehead – 2nd on open flat
• Peyton Dore – 4th on flat
Sunday’s results:
• Maya Chokshi – 3rd on flat, 1st in jumping
• Erin Lassiter – 3rd on flat, 4th in jumping
• Peyton Dore – 3rd on flat
• Amelia Whitehead – 2nd on flat
Hunt seat riding refers to an English style of riding that is popular in North America. This form of riding consists of forward seat riding and jumps. The team members had to memorize a flat and jump course and were judged on their form throughout the course.
