Slaying near Hartsville triggers extensive weekend manhunt

Officers from at least five law-enforcement agencies used bloodhounds and a helicopter in a weekend manhunt for three suspects sought in the slaying of a man near Hartsville Saturday night. The victim’s name had not been released by press time Monday. No arrests had been announced by press time. Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson told local media the shooting took place in the Lakeview Boulevard area near the Hartsville airport. He said the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, SLED, and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the manhunt, which made use of bloodhounds and a helicopter.
