Sigmon-Kilgo Wedding
Mary Deane Sigmon and Robert Lawton Kilgo, III were married on May 20, 2017, a six o’clock in the evening at Darlington Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Archie Rufus Bigelow, Jr., grandfather of the bride, and the Reverend Hunter Campbell Jordan.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dean Sigmon Sr. of Darlington, SC. She is the granddaughter of the Reverend Archie Rufus Bigelow, Jr. of Irmo, the late Martha Burke Bigelow and the late Mr. and Mrs. Maymon Ellot Sigmon of Rocky Mount, VA. A 2017 graduate of Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Mary Deane works for McLeod Regional Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawton Kilgo, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fredrick Peeples of Bishopville and of Darlington. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Elmer Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Caldwell Baker, III, the late Robert Lawton Kilgo, the late Evalyn Johnson Kilgo and the late Martha Ann Woodside. Robby is a 2011 graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He is employed by the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office as the Executive Officer.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
Matron of Honor was Sarah Burke Sigmon White, sister of the bride, of Taylors. Attendants were Holly Elizabeth Bledsoe of Saluda, Jordan Victoria Braddock of Hartsville, Carrie Leigh Brown of Darlington, Caroline Byrd Kahn of Summerville and Lindsay Rebecca Shore of Kannapolis NC.
Junior Bridesmaid was Phoenix Alexandra Kilgo, niece of the groom, of Greer. Flower Girls were Lilly Elizabeth Kilgo, niece of the groom and Dohnia Elizabeth Galloway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Lane Galloway. Robert Lawton Kilgo, Jr., father of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Kevin Lawton Kilgo and Ryan Willson Kilgo, brothers of the groom, Thomas Lee Bramlett of Darlington, William McKeithan Jackson of Darlington and Frank Bryan Quinn of Columbia.
Ushers for the wedding were Marcus Dean Sigmon and Michael Dean Sigmon, Jr., brothers of the bride and William Lawrence White, brother-in-law of the bride. Henry Michael Kilgo, nephew of the groom, served as the Ring Bearer. Kevin Flowers of Elgin, Jim Hepler of Florence, Ann Miles of Conway, Charlie Polk of Lexington and Patrick Johnson of Fairfield County provided a beautiful program of music.
A reception followed the wedding ceremony at the historical Wilds-Edwards House in Darlington.
Dr. and Mrs. Gregory Blackman Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wayne McLellan greeted guests at the reception.
After a wedding trip, the couple will make their home in Darlington, SC.
