Sheriff’s Office warns of phone scams

Darlington County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of increasing phone scams. There are numerous scams going on at this time and, unfortunately, people fall for them frequently. Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson said if someone calls, emails or contacts you in any way to say you have won something, you should consider it a scam immediately.

Some other scams include people calling you for payment and asking you to pay a portion of it upfront. The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to never give out any personal information over the phone.
