Scholarship pageants currently taking applications
The Miss Darlington and Miss Darlington Teen Scholarship Pageants, preliminaries to Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen, are currently accepting applications for the event to be held on May 21, 2017.
Miss contestants must be between the ages of 17 (rising senior for the 2017-2018 school year) to 24 (must not be 25 by December 31, 2018) and have established residency in South Carolina for six months, never been married or never had a baby. Teen contestants must be between the ages of 13 to 17, and be a rising junior for the 2017-2018 school year and have established residency in South Carolina for six months.
Both winners will represent the city of Darlington at the 2018 Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen Scholarship Pageants, to be held in Columbia S.C. in June 2018.
Miss Darlington 2018 will receive a $1,500 college scholarship and both winners will win a prize package of more than $2,000.
The teen winner’s entry will be paid to the state competition.
The pageant will be held at St. John’s Elementary School Auditorium in the heart of Darlington at 5 p.m. and the deadline for applications is April 30, 2017.
A contestants meeting will be held on April 30 at 3 p.m. at the Darlington Merle Norman, located at 84 Public Square in Darlington.
