Scaring is caring at St. David’s Asylum Haunted House
Over 70 volunteers have pitched in to create Darlington County’s must-scream event of the 2015 Halloween season: the St. David’s Asylum Haunted House in Society Hill, open every Thursday through Sunday from Oct. 2 until Nov. 1.
With themed rooms featuring everything from scary dolls to mad scientists to chainsaw-wielding maniacs, the echoing tiled halls of the old St. David’s Academy provide a perfectly creepy venue for a hair-raising good time.
DCFD Chief Kenny Stratton says the event will be family oriented with no alcohol or profanity allowed, but the scares might be too intense for children under 13 so parents are advised to use caution.
Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids 5 to 12, with part of the proceeds benefiting the Darlington County Fire District Santa’s Helpers Fund.
St. David’s Asylum is located at 473 S. Main Street in Society Hill.
