Save the Date, Sweet Potato!
Although we are still enjoying the summer here in Darlington County, plans are already underway for the 34th Annual South Carolina Sweet Potato Festival and the resurrection of the Yam Jam.
The S.C. Sweet Potato Festival sponsored by the Pilot Club of Darlington will be held on the Public Square in the heart of Darlington on Saturday, October 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival features entertainment all day, delicious food – including all things sweet potato – an antique car show, amusements for children, games, and a host of art and craft vendors.
To kick of the event, the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA) is bringing back the popular “Yam Jam” music event held the night before the S.C. Sweet Potato Festival on Friday, October 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Palmetto Office Furniture, 308 S. Main Street, just a few blocks from the Public Square.
