Robbery suspects arrested after wreck

Two people were arrested Sept. 17 after Darlington County sheriff’s deputies chased suspected armed robbers into Lee County, where they wrecked their vehicle, officials said.
The incident began with a 911 call about a possible armed robbery at a Family Dollar in the Lydia area, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies located the vehicle involved and attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and deputies pursued the vehicle into Lee County.
The driver of the vehicle eventually wrecked when attempting to pass another car on Wisacky Highway, officials said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Two individuals were arrested after the crash; their names were not immediately available. The S.C. Highway Patrol was investigating the wreck. Deputies were assisted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Bishopville Police Department.
