Last week, Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association presented the Pride of Darlington Business award to Jiffy Cab Company, located at 1312 South Main Street, in recognition of the building and property improvements done by business owner Buck Williamson.

Darlington planning director and DDRA executive director Lisa Chalian Rock said the Pride award was well deserved, noting that the exterior work done to the Jiffy Cab HQ building caught her attention and made a markedly positive impression along the important South Main corridor entering the city.
Mr. Williamson said the improvements included painting the building’s exterior, replacing all windows and doors, and remodeling the interior office – complete with new wiring and plumbing.

“Thank you for this presentation. I’m grateful, and I didn’t know we had that kind of effect on the city. Me and all my employees are still kind of shocked to get noticed; we thought we were just another little business along the side of the road… probably once this is over, I’ll kick my heels up,” said Williamson.
Williamson has owned Jiffy Cab Co. for two and a half years, and operates a fleet of six vehicles providing transportation to Darlington citizens. The Pride of Darlington Business award will remain on display at Jiffy Cab Co. for about four months.
