Pilot Club of Darlington sponsors free event
The Pilot Club of Darlington invites the community to attend a free event open to the public on Thursday, March 22nd at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Light refreshments will be served. The guest speaker will be Elizabeth Brantley, from Columbia, who serves as the Midlands Area Program Director at the Alzheimer’s Association.
She will speak on “Effective Communication Strategies” to use with loved ones suffering with Alzheimer’s Disease or related forms of dementia. Mrs. Brantley earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of South Carolina and her undergraduate degree from Clemson University. Elizabeth has a special place in her heart for caregivers after watching her grandfather tenderly care for her grandmother as she battled Alzheimer’s Disease.
She is thankful to work with an organization that connects families to resources and gives hope in an otherwise very sad diagnosis. She is excited as we all work towards our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.
