The groundhog saw his shadow, signifying six more weeks of winter. Residents at Pee Dee Gardens have no complaints! From crafts and bingo to parties and music by local entertainers, there’s been no shortage of ways to fight cabin fever at the DePaul Senior Living Community in Florence.

Volunteers with Hospice Care of Tri County have been keeping residents busy with bingo and worship services. They have a chaplain come in every Wednesday to assist with devotions and they provide prizes for bingo and party supplies for birthday parties. Pee Dee Gardens celebrated Valentine’s Day with assistance from Pruitt Heath Hospice and Hospice Care of Tri County, which provided the punch and cupcakes. “What was so special about the event was that residents had never attended a Valentine’s party before,” said Pee Dee Gardens Activities Director April Gee. “They thought it was a great idea and enjoyed mingling with other residents.”
