Pee Dee Coalition hosts annual Bunny Hop

Wesley United Methodist Church of Hartsville opened their doors on a drizzly Good Friday to host the annual “Bunny Hop,” an easter event staged by the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault. Open to all kids, the Bunny Hop offers fun activities like an egg hunt, coloring, bingo, face painting, and egg decorating, along with yummy snacks and the chance to get a photo with the Easter Bunny.

“We like to give back here at Easter and let the kids come in and just have a good time,” said Robin Griggs, forensic interviewer with the Durant Children’s Center. “Any kid from the community is welcome to come, though most of the activities are geared toward younger kids.”
Griggs said sponsors like Walmart, IGA, Bi-Lo, Pet Lover’s Warehouse, and Guardian Ad Litem were a major help in providing activities and supplies for this year’s Bunny Hop. To learn more about the Coalition or the Durant Children’s Center, visit them online at www.peedeecoalition.org
