Patrol deputy seizes drugs

During the early morning hours of Sunday, May 7 Darlington County Sheriff’s patrol deputies were conducting a joint traffic safety checkpoint along with the Hartsville Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol at the intersection of Lakeview Blvd. and Golf Course Rd. At 2 a.m. a vehicle approached the traffic safety checkpoint at which time deputies smelled an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, deputies located over 36 grams of marijuana and over $4,000 in cash.

Christopher De’jon Ketter, age 25, of Florence and Anthony Delany Dorsey, age 28, of Georgia were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, a felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment. Both have been released from the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
