Pate Elementary Tail Waggin’ Tutors

Pate Elementary has partnered with Therapy Dogs International to provide Tail Waggin’ Tutors, a program that allows children to read to dogs. The program’s goal is to provide children a relaxed atmosphere where they can practice the skill of reading, build excitement about reading, and offer an opportunity to have positive interactions with a dog. On September 20, Paige Thomas and her Shetland Sheepdog, Timmy, visited with Pate Elementary students. Timmy and the students loved reading books together. Paige and Timmy will continue their visits throughout the year.
