National Chiropractic Health Month is a nationwide observance held each October. The event helps to raise public awareness of the benefits of chiropractic care and its natural, whole-person, patient-centered and drug-free approach to health and wellness.“Most people don’t realize just how beneficial chiropractic care can be for their overall health,” said CareSouth Carolina Chiropractor Dr. Johnathan Davis. “There are a lot of misconceptions about chiropractic care, so this observance is perfect for educating people.” Davis added that “starting early” with regular adjustments can help people improve their health in the long run. A chiropractic adjustment is a therapeutic treatment where a licensed chiropractor uses their hands or special instruments to manipulate joints in the body. This treatment is also called spinal manipulation or joint manipulation. A chiropractic adjustment can help reduce pain, correct your body’s alignment and how your body functions physically. Chiropractic adjustments offer treatment that complement traditional medical care.
Chiropractic is great for those suffering with neck pain, back pain, and headaches, but did you know that there are so many additional benefits that come along with getting adjusted? Most people are surprised to hear that chiropractic can help with things such as acid reflex and heartburn. The nerves that run through your spine control your stomach and in turn your digestive tract. Getting regular adjustments keeps your spine in alignment, prevents pressure on the nerves, and allows the digestive system to work properly.
Regular chiropractic adjustments can improve your sleep, balance, immune system, mobility and overall well-being. Chiropractic care can decrease depression, anxiety, disease, and everyday aches and pains.
