Tammie Moody McNamara

DARLINGTON – Tammie Moody McNamara, 52, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019.

Funeral services were Thursday, June 13, in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home with burial at Black Creek Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday at the funeral home.

Born Dec. 2, 1966, Tammie was the daughter of Joyce Davis and the late Richard Moody Sr. She enjoyed going to the beach and was a devoted mother to her only daughter, Haley.

Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Joyce and Lawrence Gandy; daughter, Haley McNamara; brother, Ricky Moody Jr. of Darlington; maternal grandmother, Jeanette King Davis; her ex-husband, who she remained good friends with, John McNamara; stepsisters, Emily (Bobby) Colvin, Jeni (Jimmy) Johnson of Hartsville; step-brother, Lex (Brook) Gandy; special friend, Bunny Mozingo; and her special dog, Sunny Beach.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, W.C. Davis; paternal grandparents, Elinor and Pete Moody.

Pamela Griggs Sweat

DARLINGTON – Pamela “Pam” Griggs Sweat, 63, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Funeral services were Friday, June 14, in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home with burial at Florence National Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday at the funeral home.

Born Feb. 12, 1956, Pam was the daughter of the late J.L. Griggs and Bobbie Edwards Griggs. She worked as a hairdresser for 30 years, and was a member of the Moose Lodge for 25 years, where she served as a collegiate.

She was a loving and devoted housewife to her husband of 15 years, John Sweat Sr. Pam was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, John Cecil Sweat Sr. of Darlington; stepson, John (Francine) Sweat Jr. of Greenwood; step-grandson, Evan Sweat; and brother, Roger Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Adam Warr.

Jane McDonald Lucas

Jane McDonald Lucas, 76, of Darlington, went to be with her Lord and Savior at McLeod Hospice House in Florence on June 13, 2019.

She was born Aug. 11, 1942, to the late Charles Park (CP) and Myrtle Ella (Odom) McDonald, in Darlington.

She was a graduate of St. John’s High School and retired from Florence-Darlington Technical College after working as a secretary in the Arts and Sciences Department.

Jane was a strong Christian woman who loved her church, her family and Clemson football.

Jane is survived by her husband of 59 years, Franklin L. Lucas Sr.; a son, Franklin (Lee) Lucas Jr. and wife, Christy, of Opelika, Ala.; daughter, Mitzi Melton and husband, Tony, of Darlington; brother, Charles Franklin (Carolyn) McDonald of Oceanside, Calif.; three granddaughters, Jordi (Ernie) Breiner of Tamaqua, Pa., Stephanie (Michael) Lindley of Florence and Carrie (Tyler) Lutcken of Florence; eight great-grandchildren, Payton, Stella, Carolina, Anna Claire, Finlee, Reislyn, Fischer and Bristow, and her four-legged companion, Luke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior High Camp at Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby St., Florence, SC 29505.

The family received friends at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home June 15.

Funeral services were Monday, June 17, at Florence Baptist Temple Chapel with Pastor Bill Monroe officiating. A graveside service followed at Florence National Cemetery.
