Newman named a finalist for top S.C. superintendent

Dr. Tim Newman, superintendent of Darlington County schools, has been named a finalist for South Carolina Superintendent of the Year by the S.C. Association of School Administrators.
“This is a tremendous honor and recognition for Dr. Newman as well as the Darlington County School District,” the district said in a statement. “We wish Dr. Newman the best of luck!”
The other finalists for the honor are Marcella Shaw, Barnwell School District 29, and Neal Vincent, Florence School District 2.
