National Technical Honor Society inducts 26 DCIT students
The Darlington County Institute of Technology (DCIT) held an induction ceremony for students who joined the National Technical Honor Society on December 3. The ceremony was held at 6:30 p.m. A reception was held at the conclusion of the ceremony for members, family, and other guests.
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is an organization that recognizes outstanding career and technical students. To qualify for membership, students must be eligible to be a program completer which means they are enrolled in their third and fourth unit of a specific program area, have a minimum 3.25 GPA overall and 3.5 GPA in Career and Technology (CATE) courses. Forty students met the criteria this year, and twenty-six registered to join.
Students recognized for their accomplishment who were inducted during the ceremony are: Destiny Alford, Nicole Amerson, Jordan Brewer, Jonathan Brown, Brandon Campbell, Sage Dotson, Jordan Franklin, Alena Freeman, Ashley Gandy, Tara Gibson, Shykeim Graham, Diana Hall, Courtney Hatchell, Nigeria Holloman, Victoria Johnson, Kevin Lane, Logan Lehr, Dajsha McCurry, Hunter McElveen, Damian Porter, Daisha’ Price, Dakotah Riley, Tristan Smith, McKenzie Steen, Gabreal Taylor, and Sarah Williamson.
The DCIT chapter of NTHS has one returning member Cotie Lawson and two honorary members: Mrs. Linda Weatherford and Mrs. Joyce Rouse. The NTHS advisor is Mr. Bert Sandifer.
