“Their $10,000 grant put us where we need to be financially to be able to provide 800 food bags every week of this school year.” said Carolina Kids Director Andrea Pulling.

This year, Carolina’s Kids will be sending home bags with food for the weekend to needy children at an all time high record number of bags, 800, from the following schools in the Darlington County School District:

• Southside Early Childhood Center
• Washington Street Elementary School
• West Hartsville Elementary School
• Thornwell Elementary School
• Carolina Elementary School
• Cain Elementary School
• Pate Elementary School
• North Hartsville Elementary School
• Rosenwald Elementary School
• Spaulding Elementary School
• Lamar Elementary School

“We are grateful for the many hands who make it all possible,” said Pulling.
“I was so overwhelmed and grateful when I worked the final numbers and saw we can afford to provide 800 food bags this school year, every week, to 11 schools.” said Pulling. “While we are good for this school year it doesn’t mean I can rest. I have to already start planning and thinking about fundraising for the 2017-2018 school year.”

Carolina’s Kids is a Darlington County, SC, non-profit, all volunteer organization governed by a board of directors made up of members of all backgrounds in the community. Andrea Pulling serves as Director.

Their mission is to enhance the lives of the needy children in the area by providing them with their basic necessities and also providing them opportunities they would normally not receive.
