The Market on Darlington Square season continues this Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the S.C. Ag + Art Tour. Musical acts include Jelly Side Up in the morning and Rusty Henderson in afternoon.

The S.C. Ag + Art Tour is the nation’s largest, self-guided free farm tour and begins in Darlington County on June 4-5. See where your food comes from, watch artists in action, purchase something special, and learn more about rural life. The tour has welcomed more than 20,000 visitors since it began in 2012 with the mission to connect consumers with producers. The self-guided tour features local artisans, farmers markets, and working farms. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 5. The Market will have brochures and information on all the stops as well as seed packets to giveaway, while supplies last. Under the shade of trees and the courthouse, shoppers can find a variety of hand-crafted items, baked goods, purses, perfumes, food and other goods as artisans, craftsmen, farmers and other vendors will be selling their wares at the Public Square. Some of this month’s vendors include Anderson Organics, Byrd Farms of Timmonsville, Grigg’s Circle Bakery of Hartsville, Boykin Farms, Kite Branch Honey, and the Darlington Lions Club, among dozens of other crafters, artists, farms, and more.

Some new vendors this month include Baskets by Marie, Wannabees, Warren Construction, Usborne Books & More, Cattell Farms, and Darlington Bait & Tackle.

The open-air market is a partnership between Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association, the City of Darlington and a dedicated group of volunteers. The monthly market began in 2011 and is set for the first Saturday of each month, May through October.

Vendor spaces are $25 for businesses and individuals with discounts for season passes and non-profit organizations. Booth spaces are free for children and those selling produce or other farm products. Register for a spot by calling (843) 398-4000 x 103 or (843) 992-1561 or email darlingtonplanner@gmail.com.
